Here’s a breakdown of the Kia EV3, an electric SUV coming to India in 2025:
- Size & Variants: This compact SUV is similar in size to the Kia Seltos and will be available in Standard Range and Long Range options.
- Design: Expect L-shaped LED daytime running lights, a closed-off grille for a sleek electric look, and aerodynamic alloy wheels for better efficiency.
- Interior: The minimalist cabin boasts a dual-screen infotainment system with touch controls, keeping things clutter-free.
- Features: You’ll get a panoramic sunroof, level-2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and a high-tech feel with dual 12.3-inch displays.
- Launch & Price (Expected): Look for the EV3 to hit Indian roads in 2025 with a starting price around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia unveiled the production version of their EV3 at a global event, following the initial tease of a Seltos-sized electric vehicle at their Korean EV Day in October 2023. Notably, the EV3 is the most compact car built on their E-GMP platform dedicated to electric vehicles.

The production EV3 translates its concept form into a functional SUV. Conventional side mirrors replace the concept’s cameras, while thick body cladding, squared wheel arches, and a sloping roofline reinforce its rugged character. Aerodynamically designed alloy wheels directly from the concept enhance efficiency. Flush-fitting front door handles (with rear handles on the C-pillar) add a sleek touch, and a blacked-out C-pillar creates the illusion of a floating roof. The rear boasts inverted L-shaped LED taillights connected by a central element, a raked windshield for improved aerodynamics, and model badges (with “GT” exclusive to those trims). A chunky silver skid plate completes the exterior, making the EV3 resemble a more compact version of Kia’s flagship EV9.

Kia offers the EV3 in two flavors: Standard and Long Range. Both come with:
- A Single Electric Motor: Providing good performance with 204 horsepower and 283 Nm of torque.
- Speedy Charging: Top up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes with a DC fast charger.
- Long-Range Option: The Long Range boasts an impressive 600 km (WLTP) range, perfect for extended trips. (WLTP stands for Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure, a standard for measuring electric vehicle range).
- One-Pedal Driving: Enjoy a convenient driving experience with the single-pedal mode, common in many new EVs.
- V2L Capability: Power your devices on the go with the vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature.
